GrowlingI laid on my bed on a warm August night. My iPod surged with the powerful messages about the Word of God as I listened to Keith Moore. I lay there and realized it was almost midnight and I finally decided to turn off my iPod to rest my eyes. I closed my eyelids as my mind and spirit were enhanced by the messages. I positioned myself to make myself comfortable on the firm mattress and pulled my covers over my legs. Five minutes later a horrifying growling noise awakened me. I jolted upward to see where the noise was coming from.
I saw nothing but furniture masked upon the darkness as I gazed around my bedroom. I finally got up and looked around my home and bedroom to see if there was anything around. After I was confident that I was just hearing things I went back to bed and closed my eyes once more. Another five minutes crawled by and I was awakened again. This time there was no growling noise but a voice.
The voice said, "You will be scared!" in a horrific and trembling approach. Indeed the words did scare me. I lay in my bed shivering and terrified as I felt the evil presence surrounding me. I covered my head with sheets and pillows to hide from the evilness that was lurking in my bedroom. Inside I heard the Holy Spirit say "Rebuke the demon and he will flee." I took action right away and said, "In the Name of Jesus, whatever is in this room will go away!" Immediately I felt the presence of angels swarming above and all around me. I could not see them but I knew they were there.
Peace fell upon the room while they were attending me and remained throughout the night. I snoozed off again with peace. Finally another voice arouses me from my sleep. It was God speaking to me. His words flowed like a spring of fresh water and I rose with excitement as I listened. He said, "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline" (1 Timothy 1:7). This truly informed me to not be afraid of the devil but to take authority over him.
