An Angel Came To Visit

My Dream By :Gina Gray

We were all together here in Okinawa on vacation. By we I mean my kids, Rick and myself. I mean mom, dad, granny, Pat, Charles, and their family Rosalie, Jr., And their family.

It was really raining hard outside. Geoffrey and Ricki were upset about not getting to go outside and play. We all decided to sit around and talk. We talked about old times and we started talking about pap-paw . The kids sat and listened and seemed to be sad hearing about someone they never got to know.

Just then Geoffrey said he really really wished that he could have met pap-paw. He said pap-paw never got the chance to see him and Ricki. Geoffrey said I would give anything to see him. Ricki said I wish I could see pap-paw too.

Any way.... just then the doorbell rang. I went to the door to answer it. When I opened the door it was pap-paw. He looked just like picture mom has of him when he was very young hanging in the living room. At first I really didn't know it was him, and he could see the puzzled look on my face.

I quickly closed the door. The doorbell rang again. This time when I opened it he looked just like he did last time I saw him before he died. He just looked at me." I must have got the dates wrong" he chuckled just as I remembered when I was a kid. We were all shocked. how could this be?

It was true though, for there he was real as life. We all hugged and kissed him, and we sat around and talked for a while. Finally he said" I can't stay for long. I only have 2 days before I get my wings. I was sent here to answer Geoffrey's and Ricki's wish. I wanted to let them know that God loves them and that He has appointed me guardian over them."

We spent the next two day's enjoying each other's company. Then on the evening of the 2nd day, he just got up and said good- bye. He said, "I didn't get to say good-bye when I left you before. I wanted to make sure I said good -bye to you, and tell you how much I love each and every one of you." Everyone was calm and peaceful, hugging and kissing him like it was no big deal that he was leaving forever. I screamed loudly. "How can you be so calm?" "He can't leave" I said crying. I turned to him tears in my eyes. "Pap-paw you just can't go, please stay! "He then turned quickly with a smile and walked out the door. I ran after him. I couldn't find him anywhere. I was frantic .

I didn't want him to go. daddy had run out after me trying to stop me. He tried to comfort me to get me to realize that God really needed pap-paw back with Him and that i needed to let him go.

I was so hard and screaming, when out of nowhere a little Japanese man walked up to me, took my hand and escorted me to this chain link fence just a few feet away. On the other side of the fence was a beautiful Japanese graveyard.

I stood there clinging to the fence with both hands. I pressed my face against the fence and screamed for pap-paw to come back. All of a sudden I saw the brightest golden light coming from the middle of the graveyard. I stood there for a moment and could not believe what I saw. Coming up through this light was the most handsome man I had ever saw in my life. He was thin and he had the fullest, blackest, most beautiful head of hair, and his eyes were the prettiest blue. He was very muscular and stood very straight and tall. I looked closely at the figure in the light and realized it was pap-paw.

He grinned and looked down at me. I had to grin back. Just then I saw a twinkle of light flash in his eyes and it flew from his eyes and shot into my chest and into my heart. He said, " Keep this in your heart. Pass it on to your children. Let them know that love is not about material things, it is not about what you have in life, or who you are on the scale of wealth. It is about understanding one another. It is about standing up for one another, no matter what may come between you. Love is knowing that no matter, God is first and all other things will fall in place."

I stood there listening, as if his words were burning in that spark of light that flashed into my heart. He looked down once again and said, 'I know you want me to stay here, but I do not belong here. My time has passed. Pass the spark I put into your heart to the family. As long as the spark is passed back and forth among them, the whole family will have God and me in thier hearts."

The tears suddenly stopped. I held my head down in sorrow. When I looked back up ....I smiled.

He had gotten his wings. They were as bright and white as snow. He was in a bright golden robe, that hung to his feet. He quickly ascended on a cloud straight up till I heard his little chuckle, and then he disappeared. I turned to see if daddy was still behind me. When I did he was kneeling on the ground crying. I ask him why he was crying. He said " Didn't you see it ,didn't you feel it ? Didn't you see the spark of light? "He had his hand over his heart. He said," what a precious gift we have been given ..Things have to change now , I have to try and change things now."

We returned to the place where we were all staying . Each one of us had a story to tell of the magical flash of light, and how we each had gotten piece of love put into our heart.

We were so happy that pap-paw was finally in the place, he had always wanted to be. He was in heaven doing God's work.

Then peacefully and calmly I awoke. I knew then as I awoke, that things had to change, It was time to start passing the spark. So from me to you whoever may read this dream, please pass the spark to those around you. For time is too short and there is never enough time to tell those around you how much you love them before they too,! disappear...... written in 1996
